SenseiBank is a teacher/student matching service brought you by the creators of eigoTown.com (Japan's favorite English portal site for Japanese learners) and ELT News (Japan's favorite site for English teachers).

The service enables Japanese students looking for private teachers to browse a database of information about potential teachers and to opt to purchase the contact information for those teachers that meet their particular needs.

The SenseiBank service is advertised though eigoTown which reaches hundreds of thousands of students per month and through other media outlets in Japan.
It is free for teachers to register their details with SenseiBank and thereby advertise their service and gain private students. SenseiBank makes its money by charging an introduction fee to students.

The SenseiBank service works as follows:

Register your details by completing an online form. This form asks for personal details and for information about teaching availability, lesson fees etc.

Once the registration is approved, SenseiBank makes your profile available to potential students online. They can browse your profile, but need to pay a charge to receive your contact details.

Potential students pay a charge to receive contact information for the teachers they have selected. You are notified that a student is interested in you. The student will then contact you in the manner you have specified (by e-mail or by phone or fax) to arrange lessons.

SenseiBank has now done its job, and all future arrangements are between teachers and student. We do not receive a percentage of your fees and you may deal with your student as you see fit.
