1) Which browser can I use? We recommend using Internet Explorer or Firefox for Windows or Safari 3 and above or Firefox for Macintosh. 2) Does it cost me any money to register with SenseiBank? No. Never. The service is completely free for teachers. 3) How does SenseiBank make money? We charge students a fee to receive contact details for the teachers they select from our online database. 4) How do you recruit students? SenseiBank is part of eigoTown.com, one of the largest sites for English learners in Japan. The site reaches hundreds of thousands of potential students a month and the SenseiBank service is constantly advertised here. In addition the service is advertised through many other media outlets. 5) Can I update my record? Yes, in fact we encourage you to do so as often as possible, if only to confirm that you are still available to teach. Freshly updated records are given priority when students search for students. If you do not log-in to the SenseiBank for a significant period of time, we will send you an e-mail to remind you to do so. If you still do not log-in, we will make your profile unavailable to students until you do so. 6) I'm not in Japan -- can I sign up? No. You have to be in Japan to sign up and use the service. If you're not in Japan your registration will be rejected. 7) Can SenseiBank help me get to Japan or get me a visa? No. Sorry. We are not an English school. We just introduce students to potential teachers. 8) How much should I charge? It's up to you. A low-end fee would be around 2,000 per hour. High-end would be around 8,000. Teachers often put their prices up (by updating their record) as their schedule fills up. 9) Who do I contact if I have questions of problems? Send a email the SenseiBank staff and they will do their best to help you. We are unable to assist you by telephone. 10) What do I do if I have forgotten my password? When you try to log in you will see a link which will send your password to the e-mail address you gave us when you registered. 11) The registration screen won't let me choose a location! You need to choose a location from the pop-up window that appears after you have clicked the "Choose" button. Ensure that your system allows pop-up windows if you don't see a pop-up window, of that the window isn't hiding behind another window.
